The best known verse in the Bible is John 3:16; "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOEVER believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God is no respecter of persons. That word WHOEVER includes YOU. Can there be a greater invitation? How shortsighted, how foolish to not respond to so great an offer of everlasting life. Yet many are making excuses that betray their indifference to eternal realities. Weak excuses are given in a parable told by Jesus in one of our stories today.
