God's Grace is always free. It is a gift to be received, not a prize to be earned. "Salvation is not granted to men as a result of anything they are, or do, or resolve to be, but it is the undeserved gift of heaven."

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that
not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9

The new birth, the beginning of spiritual life for every believer. When divine life is imparted, the Holy Spirit enters the believer's body. This miracle is achieved through the hearing and believing of God's Word, by the working of the Holy Spirit and by our response to God of believing the truth.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
John 3:6,7

This means "to reckon" or "to put to one's account" by a judicial act of God. God put our sins upon Christ at the cross and He put Christ's righteousness upon us as believers.

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:19

A middle-man is needed to bring together a Holy God and sinful men. This is the "daysman" for which Job longed and which Christ proved to be.

And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive
the promise of eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 9:15

You were bought with a price. Believers were once the slaves of sin and uncleanness, the curse of the Law's terrible judgment, fear of impending death, and Satan's power. Now we have been made free in Christ because He has paid the price with His own precious blood.

Redemption were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
1 Peter 1:18-19

Through Christ's work, not that of man, God has become favorable to us and the claims of justice have been satisfied. The man who prayed the sinner's prayer cried, "God, be propitious to me."

...being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed.
Romans 3:24-25

Baptism is a picture of salvation. It is very important, and it follows the new birth, but does not cause it.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19

A divine act of a holy God whereby a sinner who believes in Christ is pronounced righteous before Him and acquited of all charges. Justification is by grace, by faith and by His blood, without works and apart from the law. Justification by works is a demonstration of the reality of faith already possessed, an outward display of faith by action, following salvation.

...knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
Galatians 2:16

Answering the Call to Duty Part 2

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast radio show for the air date of Sunday, July 29, 2012 has been posted. This is broadcast number 3012 entitled "Answering the Call to Duty Part 2" by Saul Cooper. This is the second of a two part message on the book of Esther entitled "Answering The Call To Duty"

The first section took us through chapter four. Esther was selected and crowned queen of Persia. Haman had obtained permission to exterminate the Jews. His plan was found out by Mordecai and Esther was told, she must go to the king to save the Jews. The problem with this is, if she went to the king without being summoned she could be put to death if he did not extend the scepter to her allowing her to present her self. Esther understanding this sent word to Mordecai to have the people fast for three days and she would go into the king and if she perish, she perish.

Esther submitted herself to her call to duty. To serve her people even that it might cost her, her life. Now we continue with the story with Esther 4:16.

Answering the Call to Duty

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast radio show for the air date of Sunday, July 15, 2012 has been posted. This is broadcast number 2812 entitled "Answering the Call to Duty" by Saul Cooper. Many times in the history of the United States men and women have answered the call to duty. Many times the call placed their lives in jeopardy. These men and women faithfully did what was required of them. The many men who died in the World Wars, Korean conflict and Vietnam were just ordinary men like you and I.

In the world of Christianity there were similar calls to duty with the results leading to the death of the called. Some of the more well known were Stephen, killed because he stood up to be counted for Christ Acts 7 and James the brother of John the first leader of the church in Jerusalem, put to death by Herod. Then we have Peter who was crucified upside down. The list goes on, men who were called to duty often paid with their lives. Out of the many that could be chosen I have selected Esther because of what she did and the behind the scenes work of God.

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast radio show for the air date of Sunday, July 8, 2012 has been posted. This is broadcast number 2712, entitled "Freedom" by Jim Hunt.  I am very thankful for the Godly principles upon which this nation was established and for the faith, wisdom and courage of our founding fathers. I am also grateful for all those who have fought and continue to fight to preserve the freedoms that we all enjoy. Unfortunately, there are those who would seek to take away those freedoms and impose their brand of law and control worldwide, in the name of Allah and Islam. They know nothing about the true freedom that comes through Jesus Christ. We read in the Word of God, "If the Son therefore shall make you free you shall be free indeed."

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast radio show for the air date of Sunday, July 1, 2012 has been posted. This is broadcast number 2612 entitled, "Ebed-Melech" by Saul Cooper. From where does your help come when you find yourself at the bottom of a Pit? God will send the help we need, sometimes from sources we would never consider. The purpose of this message this morning is to explore the plight of Jeremiah and see how God met his needs, with an unusual source.

God's Way of Salvation

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast radio show for the air date of Sunday, June 24, 2012 has been posted. This is broadcast number 2512, entitled "God's Way of Salvation" by Jim Hunt. It is so basic to understand that Salvation is a free gift of God's Grace and that it is given to those who not only do not deserve it, but who in fact deserve the very opposite. There is nothing meritorious a person can do or become to earn eternal life. It is given to those who abandon any thoughts of personal worthiness, but who rest their case on the worthiness of the Savior alone.

The Faithful Steward

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast radio show for the air date of Sunday, June 17, 2012 has been posted. This is broadcast number 2412 entitled, "The Faithful Steward" by Saul Cooper. God has made us stewards or caretakers of the talents and possessions He has given us. He requires faithfulness - In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy. 1 Cor. 4:2. In this parable, the master has gone away, the servants are to await his return. As Christians we await our Lord’s return. Prophecies of both Old and New Testaments are being fulfilled. Christ will return soon. The lesson here is to be prepared.
