message3

God's Grace is always free. It is a gift to be received, not a prize to be earned. "Salvation is not granted to men as a result of anything they are, or do, or resolve to be, but it is the undeserved gift of heaven."

Sanctification
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that
not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9

message1

The new birth, the beginning of spiritual life for every believer. When divine life is imparted, the Holy Spirit enters the believer's body. This miracle is achieved through the hearing and believing of God's Word, by the working of the Holy Spirit and by our response to God of believing the truth.

Regeneration
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
John 3:6,7

message10

This means "to reckon" or "to put to one's account" by a judicial act of God. God put our sins upon Christ at the cross and He put Christ's righteousness upon us as believers.

Imputation
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:19

message9

A middle-man is needed to bring together a Holy God and sinful men. This is the "daysman" for which Job longed and which Christ proved to be.

Mediation
And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive
the promise of eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 9:15

message8

You were bought with a price. Believers were once the slaves of sin and uncleanness, the curse of the Law's terrible judgment, fear of impending death, and Satan's power. Now we have been made free in Christ because He has paid the price with His own precious blood.

Redemption
...ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
1 Peter 1:18-19

message5

Through Christ's work, not that of man, God has become favorable to us and the claims of justice have been satisfied. The man who prayed the sinner's prayer cried, "God, be propitious to me."

Propitiation
...being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed.
Romans 3:24-25

message4

Baptism is a picture of salvation. It is very important, and it follows the new birth, but does not cause it.

Baptism
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19

message7

A divine act of a holy God whereby a sinner who believes in Christ is pronounced righteous before Him and acquited of all charges. Justification is by grace, by faith and by His blood, without works and apart from the law. Justification by works is a demonstration of the reality of faith already possessed, an outward display of faith by action, following salvation.

Justification
...knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
Galatians 2:16

A Survey of the Bible

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast radio show for the air date of Sunday, January 17, 2010 has been posted. This is broadcast number 0210, entitled "A Survey of the Bible" by Jim Hunt. A chapter by chapter, verse by verse study of the Bible is most helpful, but from time to time it is profitable to "climb the heights", as it were, and get a panoramic view of all 66 books of the Bible and see how they fit together in beautiful harmony.

The Sheep and the Goat

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast radio show for the air date of Sunday, January 10, 2010 has been posted. This is broadcast number 0110, entitled "The Sheep and the Goat" by Saul Cooper. There are just two classes of people in the world, the saved and the lost. Christ the great shepherd will one day come separate the saved from the lost.

All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left. Matthew 25:32-33

Starting Over

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast radio show for the air date of Sunday, January 3, 2010 has been posted. This is broadcast number 5310, entitled "Starting Over" by Jim Hunt. Many consider the beginning of a new year as a good time to resolve to start over and do better this time around. However, most of our resolutions are fragile, that is, easily broken. Many Christians also look with anticipation that this may be the year of the rapture, when we meet the Lord in the air. While we await His return, may we be encouraged by the words of this poem:

When you've trusted God and walked His way
When you've felt His hand lead you day by day
But your steps now take you another way
START OVER

When you've made your plans and they've gone awry
When you've tried your best and there's no more try
When you've failed yourself and you don't know why
START OVER

When the year has been long and successes few
When December comes and you're feeling blue
God gives a January just for you
START OVER

Thanksgiving

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast radio show for the air date of Sunday, November 22, 2009 has been posted. This is broadcast number 4709, entitled "Thanksgiving" by Jim Hunt. We have much for which to be thankful. It is certainly appropriate to give audible thanks for our daily bread, whether in private, at a family meal or in public at a restaurant. In fact, Jesus set the example. When He miraculously fed the multitude beside the Sea of Galilee, He began with a prayer of thanksgiving

He took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them... And they did eat and were filled. Matthew 15:36-37

So when we sit down to a meal, it should be a reminder of the many provisions that the Lord gives to us besides our daily bread. Most of all, we are thankful for God's unspeakable or incomparable gift of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Suffering and Glory

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast radio show for the air date of Sunday, November 8, 2009 has been posted. This is broadcast number 4509, entitled "Suffering and Glory" by Jim Hunt. We may well wonder at the ability of the human frame to endure the blows, the agonies, the crushing griefs of life. Viewed by themselves, these sufferings can be overwhelming. But when seen alongside the coming glory, they are, as the Apostle Paul wrote:

...not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:18

If the sufferings are so great, how much greater will be the glory!

Reformed Sinner

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast Radio Show for the air date of Sunday, October 18, 2009 has been posted. This is broadcast number 4409, entitled "Reformed Sinner" by Saul Cooper. The Reformed Sinner, this is a person who believes that the goodness of God toward them is because God approves of their life style. Rom 2:4 makes it clear that is not the reason.

Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? Romans 2:4
