God's Grace is always free. It is a gift to be received, not a prize to be earned. "Salvation is not granted to men as a result of anything they are, or do, or resolve to be, but it is the undeserved gift of heaven."

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that
not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9

The new birth, the beginning of spiritual life for every believer. When divine life is imparted, the Holy Spirit enters the believer's body. This miracle is achieved through the hearing and believing of God's Word, by the working of the Holy Spirit and by our response to God of believing the truth.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
John 3:6,7

This means "to reckon" or "to put to one's account" by a judicial act of God. God put our sins upon Christ at the cross and He put Christ's righteousness upon us as believers.

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:19

A middle-man is needed to bring together a Holy God and sinful men. This is the "daysman" for which Job longed and which Christ proved to be.

And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive
the promise of eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 9:15

You were bought with a price. Believers were once the slaves of sin and uncleanness, the curse of the Law's terrible judgment, fear of impending death, and Satan's power. Now we have been made free in Christ because He has paid the price with His own precious blood.

Redemption were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
1 Peter 1:18-19

Through Christ's work, not that of man, God has become favorable to us and the claims of justice have been satisfied. The man who prayed the sinner's prayer cried, "God, be propitious to me."

...being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed.
Romans 3:24-25

Baptism is a picture of salvation. It is very important, and it follows the new birth, but does not cause it.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19

A divine act of a holy God whereby a sinner who believes in Christ is pronounced righteous before Him and acquited of all charges. Justification is by grace, by faith and by His blood, without works and apart from the law. Justification by works is a demonstration of the reality of faith already possessed, an outward display of faith by action, following salvation.

...knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.
Galatians 2:16

This parable teaches that all the worlds goods cannot save your soul. For what profits a man if the gains the whole world and loses his very soul.

Bible Hermeneutics

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast radio show for the air date of Sunday, February 28, 2010 has been posted. This is broadcast number 0810, entitled "Bible Hermeneutics" by Jim Hunt. I believe that the Bible was written for the common individual. While there are deep truths that require serious study and meditation, there are words of comfort, instruction, blessing, encouragement and love that are there for our daily growth and blessing. How can we properly interpret and apply the Word to our lives? There are basic principles of Biblical interpretation that can be of help to us, known as Hermeneutics, to use a big word, and this message covers fourteen of those principles.

Our Great High Priest

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast radio show for the air date of Sunday, February 21, 2010 has been posted. This is broadcast number 0710, entitled "Our Great High Priest" by Saul Cooper. With Easter approaching it is time to tune our hearts toward the Lord Jesus Christ and the sacrifice He made for Us. The benefits are great and they are eternal for all who believe. The message focuses on the priesthood of Christ and his position as Our Great High Priest.

For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15

This should be a great encouragement for each of us.

The Love of God

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast radio show for the air date of Sunday, February 14, 2010 has been posted. This is broadcast number 0610, entitled "The Love of God" by Jim Hunt. One of the most comforting thoughts in Scripture is that God loves us with an everlasting love... A love that will not let us go. Our love can be very fickle, very changeable at times, but not so with God. He never ceases to love us.

The Lord hath appeared of old unto me saying, yea I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn thee. Jeremiah 31:3

The Subject of Two Ways

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast radio show for the air date of Sunday, February 7, 2010 has been posted. This is broadcast number 0510, entitled "The Subject of Two Ways" by Saul Cooper. I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, Deut 30:19. Those choices are ours today, we can follow Christ and Live or reject him and die.

Jeremiah 21:8 and Deuteronomy 30:19

Surprise Endings

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast radio show for the air date of Sunday, January 31, 2010 has been posted. This is broadcast number 0410, entitled "Surprise Endings" by Jim Hunt. Do you like surprises? I'm sure that you would agree that it depends on what type of surprise it is. Pleasant surprises are always welcome, but if it is a surprise that brings bad news, that's another story. Life is filled with unexpected pains and pleasures, but when we have placed our faith and trust in Jesus Christ for salvation, we know that He has a wonderful plan for our lives.

For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

The "hope" referred to in that verse will be one of the greatest surprise endings that could ever be imagined.

Sin Now, Pay Later

The audio of the Bible Truth Broadcast radio show for the air date of Sunday, January 24, 2010 has been posted. This is broadcast number 0310, entitled "Sin Now, Pay Later" by Saul Cooper. You can have your fun now and ignore God, but be sure of this, God will call you to account for your action. This messages provides several examples of men who defied God and had to pay very high price for their actions.
